Awards season within “the world of Lingerie” ended in spectacular style in London last weekend at the Stars Underlines Awards - think the Oscars but for everything from bras to boob tape to best shop.
We were lucky enough to be nominated for Best Shop and made it into the final for the fourth time. Competition is fierce with lots of wonderful independents represented from across the UK and Ireland. Whilst we didn’t win, we had a wonderful time and it was great to meet other independents within the industry.
It came off the back of being a finalist in the Customer Service Provider of the Year Award at the Herefordshire Business Awards which we were honoured to receive and it got us thinking about what awards mean to us and what they tell you, our Customers, about us.
It’s given us a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come and learn some valuable lessons along the way.
Kim took over the business in 2015 and has worked hard to build a loyal Customer base and create a shop that is a supportive, inclusive space for all.
So every nomination is a reflection of her passion, her time, her dedication. It helps make those sleepless nights, the Sundays spent ordering, the turning down invitations to family and friends seem a little less hard.
The entry process itself, helps us to audit what we have here, what we have achieved over the last 12 months and what we are working hard towards in the future.
It’s a seal of approval from both our wonderful Customers and industry leaders, that we have something here that’s working and that feels great and is a huge boost to the team.
Every nomination is a reminder that we have wonderful Customers who understand what we are trying to achieve and support us along the way. We could not be more grateful.
Our dream is to help as many people as possible - by either finding the bra of their dreams and thus giving them the self esteem to cope better with everyday stresses, helping women feel like themselves again after surgery and/or by helping young people build body image resilience in an increasingly distorted world.
With a nomination, and a win, people are more likely to find us. It also keeps us on our toes - what can we do better? Nothing sparks our creativity better than trying to out do ourselves.
So whilst a nice, shiny trophy would look great in the shop - it’s not about that for us. The nomination itself is cause for a huge celebration and is a great reminder to us, and those around us, of what can be achieved when you work hard and are passionate about what you do.
Thank you for being here with us and we can’t wait to show you what we have planned for 2025.
Herefordshire in the Summer is something to behold. We celebrate the wonderful gifts that come out of our unique county. Here are some suggestions for some great days out.
